Travel Map
The red dots are the places that I have been. I will get to add California in a few weeks. The lilac dots are the places that I want to see one day. If I listed all of the places I would travel if I had a lifetime to do so, the entire map would be bleeding lilac.
DC is my favorite red-dot. I love the city, with all it's museums, monuments, and the Metro. Riding the Metro is my favorite way to get around (sorry, Mad). I love that it is a big city, but feels like a small city and it is very clean- at least in the epicenter and up near Dupont Circle. I walked for miles by myself one day and felt safe the whole time. My two favorite places to eat there are Zorba's and the cafe under the Smithsonian Art Museum. I miss DC and hope I can go back to visit soon. I can't wait to share it with Wesley.

Eryn, I don't blame you taking the metro with all these scary ass cab drivers running around this city of ours. It seems like you know your Washington, I am impressed! I like Zorba's as well and I like the stuff they do with egg plants, I forgot what they call it but all in all it's a nice inexpensive Greek joint.
Eryn, maybe after graduation you should move to DC and launch your nursing career!
DC is in my heart. In truth, I started reading your blog so that I could be reminded of the city.
I was up there a good bit in the summer of '05. I went to the National Cathedral one day (by myself) and attended Eucharist. It ended up being one of those life-defining moments for me. I guess I could compare it to a mini-pilgramage.
Just talking about DC makes me miss it.
Have you ever been to the Air and Space Museum that is out near the airport? That was just so cool.
It doesn't look like living in DC is in the stars for me, with Wesley becoming so firmly planted in the diocese of upper NC. At least I know I will be close enough to drive there from time to time.
